Fistful of Lead Golden Age Supers: The Last Boat Out

Last night was the first in few months where Thursday didn't involve snow. A perfect time for part 2 of our Golden Age Supers game.

Last episode the Liberty Legion failed to stop Projekt Ragnarok from releasing an interdimensional being during an ancient ritual in the Central American jungle. Not only was the Liberty Legion soundly defeated but they last a number of heroes in the process. They've put out the call out to the local heroes to stop the baddies from reaching their awaiting U-Boat.

The scenario was simple, get the "Emissary" to the sub, or stop it.

The game itself was a mash up of Fistful of Lead rules, showing how easily the different books can be used together: Core, Wasteland Warriors and Fantasy.

Easy, just get the alien being past shark infested waters to the sub.
Numer Uno and Glamazon await with the local Federales.
Sea Wolf takes up position.
The Emissary guarded by Uber-Man, Agent Axis, Weapon H and some reanimated corpses from the last game. The Emissary had the powers of a Necromancer form Fistful of Lead Fantasy.
A revitalized Sentinel of Justice and a new Lucky clone fresh out of the freezer (shhhh, don't tell him. He doesn't know he's a clone...).
Nachooooooo Libre and Cucaracha lead more brave locals.
Did I mention the sharks?

Glamazon (former starlet who swam in a cursed lake while filming The Swamp Creature) blocks the road.
Blitz shoots forward to unleash his Electroblast....
...promptly rolls a 1.

The heroes decide to fall back and cut off the villains at the choke point of the pier.
Weapon H (a cloned Hitler head in a robot suit) leads a Grunt group of zombies.

Uber-Man takes to the sky!
A brave soldier charges forward and knocks 3 Germans into the sharky waters. Any wounded miniature in the water at the end of the turn is automatically chum!

Glamazon stomps Sea Wolf into a wet pile of fur.
But the Emissary floats closer...
...closer...

This poor soldier has a front row seat to a clash of Titans!

Despite a brave defense, including Lucky boarding the tug boat to try and ram the sub, the Liberty Legion once again is defeated. Next episode will be the epic conclusion with an international cast!

I'll have the video after action report up soon!

Wasteland Warriors mini campaign

We got together for a rare Saturday game to enjoy a few drinks, oh and game of Fistful of Lead: Wasteland Warriors.

Four games were competing for scavenged tech in No Man's Land just outside their territories. It was full of Rad zombies, Terror Eyes and booby traps. Great fun was had on a beautiful table created by Lead Addict himself.

Wasteland Warriors now available!

Wiley Games is proud to present our 11th book of our Fistful of Lead game library,
Wasteland Warriors!

In a wargaming world full of gritty, dark post apocalyptic rules we present a
weirder, and somewhat goofy take on the end of the world, shaped by hours
watching “Thundarr the Barbarian”, reading “Kamandi Last Boy on Earth”, and
playing Gamma World.

It is a world populated by talking plants, machine gun toting giant squirrels, killer
robots and techno-necromancers. Strap on your blaster, take your anti-radiation
pills, and hop on your giant rabbit mount. Things are going to get interesting....
Fistful of Lead: Wasteland Warriors is designed as a quick set of tabletop wargame
rules for skirmishes in the Post Apocalyptic future. The rules are easy to learn and
still keep the flavor of the genre.

What separates Wasteland Warriors from most tabletop miniature games on the
marker is the unique card driven turn mechanism. This leads to snap decisions and
tense moments where all the players are involved.

For Wasteland Warriors we wanted the play to be fast and furious, with a Hollywood
flair to it. For that reason, record keeping is kept to a bare minimum.
In most games, each player can control up to 5-6 miniatures without much trouble.

Games can have up to 8 players without slowing down the game. Now, you can dig
out all your old miniatures gathering dust and have a game set in the Wastelands of
the future.

Experienced wargamers and new players alike will enjoy this game. It’s perfect for
convention games and just one on one skirmishes.

THIS IS NOT A STAND ALONE GAME! You will need the Fistful of Lead Core rulebook
to play.

There are full rules for building your gang of humans, robots, and mutants, and
sending them on campaigns. The book includes rules for mutations and creatures
that stalk the Wastelands.
64 pages, black and white.

Fistful of Lead: Wasteland Warriors playtest

We had a 6 player game of Wasteland Warriors last night. This was mainly to try out the "Scavenging" rules. Resources in the Wasteland are hard to come by, so part of every scenario includes a few spots around the table where food, gear and equipment of the ancients can be dug up. But careful, sometimes things can go horribly wrong. You might trigger a booby trap and stir up a sleeping monster...
Do you know where you are...? You'r in the jungle, baby!
And who says the wasteland is desert? On the contrary, sometimes it's ruins, sometimes a fetid swamp. This part just happens to be a blistering hot jungle full of danger.
Rats and robots
With a six player game there are bound to be fleeting alliances and someone always gets ganged up on. Enter the Ratskin gang. By turn 4 they had been attacked by 4 different gangs and lost all of their younger recruits. The Book of Grudges was heavy with payback.
The ancient warbot, GI-88, electronic heart heavy with grief over the young one's deaths, turned his heavy machine gun on everything in range and unleashed hell!
Meanwhile, Orange Julius (those who follow this blog know the name. A misogynistic lout who regularly gets killed first turn) and his girls were taking heavy fire from both the Knights of Genetic Purity and Sweet Jimmy's family of mutants.
 Orange Julius
The beautiful Tutu
Tutu, emerged from the foliage to use her Mesmerizing mutant trait to lay some allure on Miss Yvonne, one of Julius's girls. It didn't work. All her love pheromones got her was a bullet in the skull.
Filled with rage, the oversized Jimmy charged out of the woods screaming his battle cry "Jimmmmmmmmy"!

The Animal Kingdom mutants were also stacking up loses. Their leader, The Ape With No Name was out in turn 2. Armand the Armadillo released a stinking cloud to cover one of his gang digging around for loot. Instead of ancient treasure he released a horde of hornets causing every around to gain 2 Shock markers.
Armand
Lenny eyes a prize. His claws weren't good at picking up delicate treasures.
Ratbastard takes aim
Mutant fought Human. Robot fought animal. Things were building to a a final crescendo.
The Ratskins were out. Jimmy was down. Orange Julius had lost all his babes. The Knights, who at one time had quite a bit a loot had now lost it to the grubby claws of the Animals.
The Ornks, a race of ancient genetically grown super soldiers gone wrong, had managed to survive mostly unscathed. With that, they survivors slunk back to their various hovels to lick their wounds (some literally) and check their treasures.
Jimmy protects a fallen friend
A great game filled with funny moments and perilous daring dos.
Halfway through layout. Really just some rough edges to work out and the scenario/campaign to write along with a Menagerie to stock the Wastelands with.
