The French won the first initiative but the center could not get a move on and take the central hills. Meanwhile the flanks got a pounding.
The road between the two towns.
Austrians take the hill.
For once, in all the games we've played, the Austrians put up a good fight.Four turns in, (turns can last 1-4 pulses, which things exciting) both sides were beat all to hell. The Austrians had it slightly worse, and failed their army morale. But, then so did the French. Both sides skulked away.
A truly great battle.
Editor's note: I neglected to mention the valiant effort of the now named "Lucky 13th" or "Lost Brigade". They became separated from the rest of the line. This is terrible in these rules. Attackers get to reroll hits, etc. They managed to hold the a large chunk of the Austrian right wing before being finally crushed in a cavalry charge.

Baron- this looks like a blast. I am always tempted to rebase my 6mm nappies on full stands, but always balk. You may be winning me over.
Cheers

Maybe we can run a game next time you're in town...
Not a scale I go for myself, but looking at your impressive battlefield and troop stands, and can see how it can appeal! Very nice.
It allows you to do large battles in a reasonable amount of time. Also has the advantage of keeping those Nappy snobs from commenting that your cuff colors are wrong when they're too small to tell.
No mention of The Lost Battalion?!?! Where's the love?
That would be the Lost Brigade.
Those are lovely looking minis! I must have a look at those rules...
Simon, it's not commercially available since it's a quick play version of the original Grande Armee. It was available through Sam's HONOUR website at one time. If you have trouble finding it, email me.
Thanks, will do. I'd be interested to try a very big scale Nps set- have you ever tried SnappyNappY? Terrible name but looked interesting.
Agreed. Terrible name. FPGA lets you play massive games. Each one of those bases is a brigade. We had probably 3 Corps a side.
You csn find the rules at http://www.deepfriedhappymice.com/FPGAtext.pdf
Baron can you talk about how you make the labels and attach them to your base? Great looking bases.
They are just regular printed paper glued to a slightly slanted back of the base. Then we just used packing tape over the top. Dry erase markers work great.
