Golden Age Supers: the Revenge!

Years ago, I ran superhero game set during World War 2 in the Pacific. The Japanese Empire vs Allied supers. It was one of the shortest games ever played with the Japanese supers wiped out in two turns.

I thought I'd give the Empire another chance. Armed with a super weapon (code named Death Blossom) hidden on a small Pacific island, their revenge was at hand! The missile would launch in 6 turns.

Turn one was filled with long range shooting. The Japanese soldiers fired 3 volleys at the US soldiers downing quite a few, while overhead the flying supers of both sides took to the skies.

Liberty Belle approaches through the jungle
Hachiman sprung into action the next turn to attack the Scarlet Speedster. The lightning quick hero managed to dodge most of the attacks.
Uberman guarded the launch tower but was soon attacked by the Druid, who seemed to know the villain's every move before he made it.
Warhawk, after seeing his other flying heroes shot from the sky by the accurate fire of the Exo Bushi tried to sneak through the jungle only to be attacked by Ninja!
The Battle for the compound began in earnest Turn 3.
Japenes infantry faced Klank in close combat and suffered greatly.
The Scarlet Speedster was caught up in the Kamikaze Bots explosions but managed to zip away unscathed.

The Liberty Legion was able to attack the missile tower and disarm the missile by turn 4. It wasn't the grand revenge the Imperial forces wanted but they had done better than last time.

Supers!

Apologies for letting the blog slide. Surgery, a convetion and starting a new job kinda took over posting. I've been playing, just not posting. Most of my work goes up on the Wiley Games Facebook page or Discord channel.

Last night we dusted off an old favorite. Superheroes!

Eggstreminator stalks the shadows look for prey....
One-Eyed Jack takes to the skies to get in position for an aerial assault.
A.J.A.X. responds and gets blasted for it.
She Wolf goes toe to toe with Hero Sanwich!
Hero Sandwich gets assistance from Black Gold who traps She Wolf in an oil slick.

The Flea and Awesome spot Eggsterminator hiding in an alley and attack.

But, a Kat-jui attack on Super City forced an end to the game. The Baddies had beat up more heroes than they did in return. Villain victory!

Fistful of Lead Golden Age Supers: The Last Boat Out

Last night was the first in few months where Thursday didn't involve snow. A perfect time for part 2 of our Golden Age Supers game.

Last episode the Liberty Legion failed to stop Projekt Ragnarok from releasing an interdimensional being during an ancient ritual in the Central American jungle. Not only was the Liberty Legion soundly defeated but they last a number of heroes in the process. They've put out the call out to the local heroes to stop the baddies from reaching their awaiting U-Boat.

The scenario was simple, get the "Emissary" to the sub, or stop it.

The game itself was a mash up of Fistful of Lead rules, showing how easily the different books can be used together: Core, Wasteland Warriors and Fantasy.

Easy, just get the alien being past shark infested waters to the sub.
Numer Uno and Glamazon await with the local Federales.
Sea Wolf takes up position.
The Emissary guarded by Uber-Man, Agent Axis, Weapon H and some reanimated corpses from the last game. The Emissary had the powers of a Necromancer form Fistful of Lead Fantasy.
A revitalized Sentinel of Justice and a new Lucky clone fresh out of the freezer (shhhh, don't tell him. He doesn't know he's a clone...).
Nachooooooo Libre and Cucaracha lead more brave locals.
Did I mention the sharks?

Glamazon (former starlet who swam in a cursed lake while filming The Swamp Creature) blocks the road.
Blitz shoots forward to unleash his Electroblast....
...promptly rolls a 1.

The heroes decide to fall back and cut off the villains at the choke point of the pier.
Weapon H (a cloned Hitler head in a robot suit) leads a Grunt group of zombies.

Uber-Man takes to the sky!
A brave soldier charges forward and knocks 3 Germans into the sharky waters. Any wounded miniature in the water at the end of the turn is automatically chum!

Glamazon stomps Sea Wolf into a wet pile of fur.
But the Emissary floats closer...
...closer...

This poor soldier has a front row seat to a clash of Titans!

Despite a brave defense, including Lucky boarding the tug boat to try and ram the sub, the Liberty Legion once again is defeated. Next episode will be the epic conclusion with an international cast!

I'll have the video after action report up soon!

Fistful of Lead: Golden Age Supers!

It's 1954 and the Occult Wars are winding down. Agents of Ragnarok are still at it trying an arcane ritual somewhere in the jungles of Central America. Can Major Victory and the Liberty Legion stop them in time?

SPOILER:  The Liberty Legion was twarted in their attempt to keep the gateway to the Void closed. The Sentinel and Lucky were killed almost immediately. The Ubersoldaten were able to get their machines running, although the disoriented creature they summoned immediately disintegrated the evil scientist. Now the creature calling itself “The Emissary” is headed to the coast to wreak havoc on the rest of the world.

The lone surviving US soldier has been elevated to the next Sentinel while another Lucky clone is pulled out of storage. Will the locals be enough to stop them?

Catch the whole game here.
