By official proclamation of Her Worship, the Baroness, all purchasing of little lead men is henceforth discouraged until the building of the outdoor water hole, known as The Pool.
That is to say, I need to stop buying more stuff and paint what I got for awhile. Hey, I got a sweet gaming area so I can't complain. But, out of the piles of unpainted lead I own, where to start?
So I have started a poll to the right here, to get feedback. Those listed are some of my favorites, but I encourage any others than listed. I got plenty of projects.
I await your answers!
Also, this weekend said Baroness goes on her annual tour of the Barony (girl's weekend) which means gaming all weekend, starting Thursday. Good pics next week!
Sidenote: My wife didn't actually make such a proclamation. It's just easier to blame her for the need to save. Left to my own devices, the pool money would never get saved.
Renaissance, of course!
ReplyDeleteI voted for VSF (well I'm doing a "Colonial Year") . . .
ReplyDeleteBut if you've got them to paint, you might want to consider the American Civil War (this being the 150th anniversary of the start of the ACW).
I too voted for VSF--a fondness for the genre and my desire to see your handling of it made it an easy choice!
ReplyDeleteVSF sounds good to me. I am doing 28mm Seven Years War, but I have plans to do a small force for VSF. I think someone makes Wurttemburgers for Franco Prussian War, and I may use that as my line troops.
ReplyDeleteBottom line is, I never paint very fast unless I like what I am doing. Paint whatever floats your boat. (and you do have some boats to paint also...)
Blue Bear,
ReplyDeleteACW is one of those areas I can say I'm done. I have very few armies or periods where i feel I have enough troops (both sides) to fight a decent sized battle. That's not to say I won't break down and do some 28mm. I'm considering the local Battle of Independence. It's small enough to do in skirmish scale, and great, great grand daddy was there, defending Missouri soil from the foul, Northern aggressors.
I may be a Nothern Agressor, but I do bathe, so go easy on the foul comments... :)
ReplyDeleteShouldn't that really be foul western aggressors?
ReplyDeleteI didn't know there was a dark ages Russian civil war
ReplyDeleteTechnically, all the Union troops were local. TRAITORS!!!
ReplyDeleteYeah, it did that, and now won't let me fix it.
ReplyDeleteSo Jaye, would that be the First Battle of Independence, in 1862, or the Second Battle of Independence in 1864. (Google is my friend...)
ReplyDeleteIIRC, the First has fewer troops, and Quantrill involved. Three MO militia units on one side and bunch of Bushwackers (patriots) on the other.
