Handgunners advance, protected by a "Clanker"...
....While a sniper takes aim (notice the subdued "camo" colors).
Meanwhile, a war wagon rolls up.
The top figs are Old Glory from the Italian Wars range and the machine is classic GW.
The rest are all Games Workshop. I added extra horses than normally come with the war wagon. Two seemed insufficient to pull it.
Wow! That "clanker" is just dinky! I've got a current fascination for steampunk/Victorian SF, so I can appreciate the wilder shores of wargaming. =)
ReplyDeleteYeah, the old all metal steam tank is sorta dinky. The new one seems a bit bigger but comes with a matching price tag.
ReplyDeleteI've got them all. Tomorrow, the Divinci tank.

I actually think I prefer the little one. Nostalgia, I suppose. The bigger plastic one certainly has a better detail on the boiler, engine, etc. But I think too much extra stuff all over it is the problem for me. That might just be optional kit stuff, though. Need to look at one 'in the flesh,' so to speak.
ReplyDeleteI think, like most of GW's current batch of plastic vehicles, the Steam Tank comes with a ton of options (a major gripe for me) allowing you customize and maybe even do some variants or something.
ReplyDeleteI know there was a White Dwarf or online article showing off Steam Tank variants, but not sure whether they were all conversions or not
